GATE Trust Ranking is the major component of the subjective side of trust. There is no doubt but that trust is a mix of feelings and facts; of emotions and actions. GATE Trust RATINGS carry the weight of facts and actions, the objective side of trust, but it is a mistake to ignore the subjective side of trust, for that is often where trust begins.

The attached picture shows the newly created GATE Trust RANKING form. It is now possible to RANK an individual's trustworthiness and have that RANKING be reflected within the ranked individual's trust score. You can see a completed form here, not it is an example only but is the result of the creation captured in this image.

Whether implicitly, almost subconsciously, or occasionally explicitly, we all spend time RANKING the trustworthiness of those people we know. We know that some of our family, friends, and acquaintances are more trustworthy than others, just as we know those that are less trustworthy.

• Look at his eyes, I just know I can't trust that guy!
• She has a kind face, I bet you can trust her
• John has my back, I know I can trust him to keep me out of trouble, he is there for me
• That was a good firm handshake, one I can trust

And so it goes.

Some of this is very valid information, but unfortunately it is all too easy to misplace trust -- we all know that we can be fooled by a smooth-talker and most of us know that will happen to us again.

GATE Trust RANKING is a voluntary activity of GATE Members where they rank their own Trusted Network members' trustworthiness in a way that reflects their true feelings about the people in that network.

Trust RANKINGS are created by the GATE Trust System over time (as Village Interactions are registered) and are always modifiable by the GATE Member owner of the table. GATE Trust System pays more attention to a RANKING has been modified by a user than one that is only set by the system.

GATE Trust RANKINGS are confidential -- your opinion is yours. we will use the RANKING information in calculating the GATE Trust Score and in providing the Dynamic Trust Views, but will never publish RANKING data and we will never connect your name with a publicly available RANKING comment without your explicit consent (provided on the Create Trust RANKING form)
