The GATE Trust Score is a proprietary formula that combines the GATE Trust RANKING Explained">RANKING </a>and GATE Trust RATING Explained">RATING </a>information provided by GATE Members into a single, comparable number that, over time and with enough data, becomes a true reflection of the trustworthiness of a GATE Member. </span></span></p>

The GATE Trust Score formula favours RATING data over RANKING data because Actions Speak Louder than Words; it favours more recent activity because you are only as good as your last action, and it favours user-supplied RANKING data over system-generated data to reflect the fact that a Member has gone out of their way to indicate a value (and it is therefore more likely to be accurate).

The GATE Trust Score can only be compared by others within the same GATE Trust System, using the same trust data -- as it includes subjective views that must be normalized with the objective data.

The GATE Trust Score formula is one of the very few secrets of GATE Village.
