Input Filters provide different capabilities for different users and content types. An input filter might, for instance, provide the aiblity to change all text into images helping to preserve formatting (without worrying about fonts on the readers' computer) or preserve privacy (a list of email addresses displayed as pictures cannot easily be used by spanners). Another Input Filter allows for the use of GATE Village Company banners like GATE and RANT Studios. And yet others restrict the allowed HTML tags and another allows for the execution of PHP code.
